Schedule the closing/settlement date on your calendar
Now that we are through most of the contingencies and have received the mortgage commitment from the buyer, it’s safe to put the closing date on your calendar. Usually the seller does NOT choose the location or time. You can pre-sign all of the paperwork in a Deed Packet prior to settlement if you cannot attend. I will need to know this in advance of settlement (2 weeks preferred). I will attend settlement to ensure it runs smoothly and no conflicts arise at the table.
